Chotto Matte, international restaurant group from London, is looking for an Assistant General Manager to join its team for our new opening in Chiltern St.!

After the success of the London flagship, Chotto Matte now counts two other restaurants in Toronto and Miami. With a further two sites in Doha & Riyadh opening in 2022 and extensive expansion plans in the works, Chotto Matte’s journey is just getting started.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

To oversee management and supervise daily running of venue. To always hold responsibility for the venue, to be available in case of an emergency, able to guide staff and deal with any urgent matters regarding Health & Safety and situations within the venue. All work is carried out in-line with the departmental business plan, and The NZR Group corporate guidelines, and service concepts.


GENERAL DUTIES:

• Extreme flexibility to work when needed and assist the workload of others.

• Co-ordinate staff building a positive professional team with excellent customer service.

• Monitors industry trends and recommends appropriate changes to maintain the competitive status.

• Maintains venue, materials, and company property clean, tidy and in good shape, reporting and defective materials and equipment.

• Attend any meeting or training session as required by Head Office.

• Maintains a safe and hygienic work environment.

• Is conversant and complies with:

1. The company fire and health and safety procedures

2. The company security procedures

3. The property facilities

4. Licensing regulations

5. Operation standards and departmental procedures

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Actively participate in assisting to achieve departmental goals and objectives and carry out assigned work by General Manager and Head Office. 

• Actively engage in own personal development to benefit the business and improve your personal skills – probationary period reviews, annual appraisals, attending training and development courses. 

• Actively participate in weekly Head of department meetings and any other meetings that you are required to attend. 

• Assist in organizing meetings to build and strengthen floor team.

• Actively participate in addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

• Actively hold responsibility for the restaurant and its staff.

 

KNOWLEDGE, PERSONAL SKILLS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years’ experience in bar, restaurant, and venue management.

• Excellent command of English language (Written and spoken).

• Extensive knowledge of hospitality industry.

• Personal License holder.

• COSSH training.

• Basic Knowledge of HACCP.

 • Ability to communicate with customers and peers with a friendly and positive attitude.

• Self-motivated, continuously seeking to succeed and progress in career within the company.

• Extremely flexible and committed.

• Lively, enthusiastic, and confident.

• Ability to handle difficult situations successfully.

• Outstanding organizational skills.

• Excellent supervisory and management skills.

 

WORK ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·       UK resident.

·       Pre-Settlement or Settlement status, required to provide Share Code, or BRP (Biometric Residence Permit).

·       National Insurance Number.
