Job Title: Restaurant Waiter

Department: Coffee Room

Reports to: Robert Lyall

Company: The RAG – Army and Navy Club

 

Job Summary: We are looking for a friendly and efficient Restaurant Waiter to join our team at the Coffee Room. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, ensure guest satisfaction, and contribute to a pleasant dining experience. This role requires strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well under pressure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests in a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations on menu items.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen staff.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure tables are set up correctly and maintain cleanliness throughout service.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback with a positive attitude.
  • Process payments and provide accurate change and receipts.
  • Assist in the preparation and clearing of tables.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and other staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Always follow the service journey and standard operating procedures
  • Follow health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Adhere to the company uniform & grooming standards
  • Demonstrate a full knowledge of every dish served in the Restaurant and to provide explanations as requested, including all allergen and dietary requirements
  • Communicate all feedback from guests to the restaurant manager and to use this to improve service
  • Maintain good communication between Kitchen/Restaurant and other departments on a daily basis with regards to specials, shortages and allergen information.
  • To ensure that the Restaurant areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and report any maintenance issues
  • Work in other F&B departments when needed
  • Follow any reasonable request from Management

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a waiter or similar role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends
  • A positive attitude and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
  • Certification in food safety and handling is a plus.

 

Salary: To be discussed

Hours: 40 hours over 5 days (Mainly Monday to Friday)

  • 2 split shifts per week depending on business and holidays.
  • 1 straight shift per week depending on business and holidays.
  • 2 half days (just lunch or dinner, not both) per week depending on business and holidays.
  • Mainly Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday dinner or Sunday lunch.
