ELMO RESTAURANT - popular, long running (21 years) , high-volume, American restaurant - is seeking an inspired and motivated Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at our Chelsea location.
The Chef / Executive Chef is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the restaurant including efficient management of the kitchen staff, menu creation, quality control, food cost and kitchen labor cost control - while maintaining a friendly and enjoyable work environment.
Experience cooking New American food is preferred.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Creation and cost of all menu items
- Train and mentor kitchen staff
- Manage staffing, including scheduling
- Manage all food and labor costs
- Ensure all Department of Health guidelines are followed
- Ability work all positions on the line and help line staff when necessary
- Expedite orders, especially during times of high-volume
