The Paper Mill is known for excellent pub food, great drinks range and friendly service. With warm log fires and a large outdoor canal side terrace, it's a family-friendly pub for all seasons. Situated in Apsley Lock on the Grand Union Canal, only a short walk from Apsley Lock station and next to a very busy Holiday Inn. This is a 2-floor venue with a lovely private room, perfect for family gatherings and meetings.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who is an energetic leader and a forward thinker; that works with their team to maximise each opportunity not only through the in-pub events and functions but building on the reputation for the best pub and dining experience in Hemel and surrounding areas. You must be able to work well under pressure and be highly organised and structured in your approach to maximise both Sales and Profit at peak times and have a strong team ethos. 

Experience and understanding of high-volume fresh food is a must and a real passion for delivering experiences that nourish the soul, will make you a standout candidate for the role.

Events are an important part of The Paper Mill trade, from live music, a quiz night and the infamous Duck Day, to mention a few. Experience in tailoring the rhythm of the week is important for the next General Manager at The Paper Mill to ensure we keep this energy going.

The Paper Mill has a spacious 2-bedroom manager flat if required. We welcome applications from experienced General Managers looking for their next role.
