Description

We're growing massively across the UK and are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support our continued growth.  You’ll play a crucial role in both pre and post-contract phases, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will travel to various sites and locations, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert cost management and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management and Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to budgets
  • Provide accurate cost forecasting and financial reporting

Contract Management:

  • Prepare and manage contracts, including tender documents and procurement strategies
  • Evaluate and negotiate contract terms, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier agreements, including payments and contract variations

Project Evaluation and Feasibility:

  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects.
  • Analyse and evaluate project risks and opportunities
  • Provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions and improvements

Tendering and Bidding:

  • Prepare and issue tender documents, evaluate bids, and recommend the best value proposals
  • Conduct detailed analyses of contractor bids and negotiate contract terms

Cost Reporting and Control:

  • Maintain detailed records of project costs and expenditures
  • Prepare and present regular cost reports to project stakeholders
  • Identify and manage project cost variances and implement corrective actions as needed

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among project teams
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on cost management activities

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree qualified (BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent)
  • Experience working in QSR or Retail as a Quantity Surveyor 
  • Strong knowledge throughout pre and post construction phases
  • Experience in the administration of construction contracts
  • Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
  • Strong IT capabilities, including experience with Microsoft Office
  • Commitment, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic

Your Experience:

  • Proven track record in the administration of construction contracts
  • Experience delivering a range of projects, ideally with varied procurement approaches
  • Competence in advising clients on key project-related issues and risk management
  • Ability to lead both internal and external teams effectively
  • Pro-active contribution to value management and value engineering studies
