Job Title: Bratwurst Swing Grill Supervisor

Department: Kitchen

Location: The Winter Club, Canary Wharf

About the Role

We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Bratwurst Swing Grill Supervisor to lead our grill team at the Winter Club in Canary Wharf. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the bratwurst grill area, ensuring smooth service, maintaining high food quality, and creating a positive, festive experience for all guests. You’ll take responsibility for a small team, ensuring efficiency, safety, and top-notch customer service throughout the event.

Zero Hour Contract, Flexible working hours. Weekend and evening work is required. 

Event runs November to February

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the Bratwurst Grill team to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
  • Operate and oversee the swing grill to cook and serve bratwurst and other grilled items to high standards.
  • Ensure all team members follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation across all shifts.
  • Train and support staff in grill operation, customer service, and safety practices.
  • Manage stock levels, place supply orders, and minimize waste.
  • Handle cash or POS transactions accurately and responsibly.
  • Liaise with the Food & Beverage Manager regarding daily operations, performance, and any issues.
  • Lead by example—maintaining professionalism, enthusiasm, and a festive spirit at all times.
Skills & Experience

  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience in catering, street food, or hospitality required.
  • Strong understanding of grill operation, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
  • Positive, hands-on attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Confident problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 or above certification preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor winter setting—must be comfortable working in cold weather.
  • Shift-based work including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Uniform and appropriate protective gear provided.
  • May require extended periods of standing and light lifting.
